A short story about Uwe Stadter, the Inventor of Akusta

Uwe Stadter is a heavyweight in the fields of fire protection and acoustics. During his time at Teroson, he developed the sprayable, dispersion-based product Terophon 112 DB - the only product in the world approved for rail vehicles that prevents aluminum from melting in the event of fire. This not only enabled an enormous reduction in weight, as steel could be dispensed with, but also ensured moisture regulation in the interior. It was while working on Terophon 112 DB that Uwe Stadter came up with the idea for what is now Akusta FireStop.

1977-1994: Introduction of the Inventor of Akusta
1994-2006: From Industry Leader to Independent Innovator

However, his ever-increasing career meant that he had to postpone the development of Akusta FireStop: he first became sales director and plant manager for the Heidelberg and Lambrecht sites at Perstorp (the successor company to Terson). From 1994, he worked as a freelancer at both Plastocell in Speyer and Cellofoam in Biberach, where he was responsible for expanding the sales structure for acoustic products. He also worked as a consultant for fire protection and acoustic solutions for several international industry giants: Siemens, Mercedes, VW, Volvo, MAN, Scania, Miele, Whirlpool, Electrolux, Ideal, Dura, Stakiewicz, Rieter, Borgers - to name but a few.

2007: The Birth of Akusta Steam-Releasing Flame Retardant (SRFR) Resin

In 2007, as a freelancer at IAC, he took over the consulting for sales and development for the Lambrecht site. There he finally had access to a laboratory and a test calender again, which enabled him to realize his idea from 1988: Akusta Firestop.

2015-Now: Uwe Stadter’s Legacy: A Flame That Never Fades

From 2015, however, Uwe Stadter was no longer able to actively pursue this project close to his heart due to personal circumstances. Although the invention was not driven forward through product promotion and marketing efforts, his contributions have already profoundly changed the fields of fire protection and acoustics, setting an innovative benchmark for the industry.

By 2020, despite facing significant challenges, Uwe remained deeply committed to ensuring that Akusta technology—into which he had poured his life’s work—would not go unnoticed.

With a strong sense of responsibility for the future, he officially transferred the technology to the international innovation company KhaiEL (KhaiEL Germany) in 2024. Uwe chose KhaiEL not only for its outstanding industry strength but also for its commitment to humanistic care and mission-driven approach. From that point on, KhaiEL took on the responsibility of preserving and promoting the steam-releasing flame retardant resin technology, ensuring that Uwe’s vision continues to shape a safer and more sustainable world.
